Managing Director: Manish Bhartia
Manish Bhartia is a Commerce Graduate with 17 years hands-on experience within a commercial environment. He is also a major shareholder in the business.
Manish has successfully contributed to the establishment of Torsa Machines Limited, which is a leading company in the rock and mineral processing industry in the capacity of Joint Managing Director. He is one of the major shareholders within Torsa. The company has a 8 year profit-making record. Manish has led Torsa to become one of the leading companies in India and the top brand in Eastern India.
In addition, Manish owns his own trading business in crushing parts which has had an excellent trading record for the last 10 years.
Within Torsa, he has played a crucial role in obtaining Distribution rights from Minyu Machinery Corporation, Taiwan and CEC Equipment, USA. Both these companies are large corporations and leaders in the field of mineral processing.
Manish played an integral role in bringing the CDE brand to India. He has the ability to forecast the market demand and trend and apply the products in order to suit the requirement and translate it into real business. Furthermore he has identified new applications for CDE’s core product range within India’s vibrant Iron Ore sector.
Moreover, over the years Manish has built up some excellent contacts within the industry including technical executives and consultants and there is no doubt this will prove significant to CDE Asia.
Manish has traveled extensively throughout India building up an excellent knowledge of the markets therein. He has undertaken the formal ISO 9001 training.
 Sales & Marketing Director: Iain Walker
Iain joined CDE in 2002 through the Invest NI Connections Graduate Programme. During his 9-month placement he was instrumental in accruing sales in Northern Ireland and Scotland worth over £0.5m. Iain went on to act as Sales Manager liaising with CDE’s agent in England at that time, taking an active role in training and supporting the growing sales team. Iain has also played a significant part in building CDE’s marketing strategy through the development of the company website and numerous technical features in leading industry publications. During his tenure as Sales and Marketing Manager he was instrumental in the development of a new focused marketing team. He has continued to play an important role in the company’s sales function overseeing all project pricing and quotations.
In 2005 Iain started to explore export markets for the company, becoming Export Development Manager that year. He produced the company’s first export development business plan in late 2005 after further sales visits to India and Europe. Iain has represented CDE Ireland in India, Sri Lanka, U.A.E, Oman, Qatar, Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, Holland, and Germany. His input to the export success of the company is evident in the growth in CDE’s sales outside the British Isles in the past two years.
Iain has been at the forefront of CDE’s market development in India since his first visit to the country in October 2005. His discussions with Torsa Machines Ltd led to an official distribution agreement with that company. He was also part of the April 2006 discussions, which led to the formation of CDE Asia Ltd.
Iain is increasingly active in the Asian target markets and has relocated to Kolkata in early 2007 to focus solely on CDE Asia’s development.
Vice President (Business Development & Technology): Dr A. Bandyopadhyay
A graduate in chemical engineering from Jadavpur University, Dr.Bandyopadhyay has over 35 years experience in the mineral industry, during which time he has also obtained an M. Tech and Ph.D in mineral engineering.
Beginning with Hindusthan Copper Ltd, (HCL) in 1973 as a graduate trainee, he rose through the ranks to become the plant manager. His stay at HCL is characterized by studies carried out in relation to circuit modification which resulted in a substantial increase in throughput rates and reduction in power consumption. This data was compiled in a paper and presented to the International Mineral Processing Congress in 1982.
Following this Dr. Bandyopadhyay joined Richard Mozley (I) Pvt. Ltd. as President. He developed unique applications for hydrocyclones in iron ore, chrome ore, alumina and other mineral industries and introduced the Mozley brand to India. This company was later merged with the parent company in India, Tega Industries Ltd, and Dr. Bandyopadhyay was made a Director of the Board. He left Tega Industries Ltd. in 2008 and joined CDE Asia Ltd, as Vice-President (Business Development & Technology).
Dr. Bandyopadhyay has traveled widely in India and abroad and is one of the most well respected experts in the mineral industry, not only in India, but worldwide. He has a number of technical papers to his credit, many of which have been published in leading international journals.
 GM Operations: Sanjay Singh
Sanjay is an Engineering Graduate with distinction in Met. Engg. and has 24 years of industrial experience in various types of Industries. He started his career as GET from the Public Sector Hindustan Zinc Limited. Has worked in various plants and at various locations through out the country and acquired in depth knowledge of manufacturing and Plant Operations. He also acquired a wide exposure in the field of Mineral Beneficiation.
Later, he joined as the key personnel of 500 million USD Green Field Project execution group with HINDALCO Industries Ltd. in Gujarat. There, he was a member of the core team who executed the project, making the world record in Project completion, Plant stabilization and in achieving the rated Production. During this tenure, he fine tuned his skills and contributed significantly in the Project execution, Installation & commissioning and its subsequent Operations. He was awarded as the Excellent Achiever. His strength lies in Team building and in dealing with the human resources.
He has a thorough knowledge in the field of water and waste water treatment, has an inclination for the conservation of environment, and takes a lot of interest in the development of Green belts in and around the work place.
Sanjay has widely traveled throughout India as well as foreign countries and has a wide net working in the Indian and African Industries.
