Next up in our “Getting to know” feature is Regional Service Engineer Mike Dambra. Mike has customers all over North America. From Hawaii to Canada through Texas and into North Carolina.
Over to Mike!
As the CustomCare key point of contact for some of CDE USA’s biggest and most valued customers, I am the primary “go-to” contact whenever they need anything. Offsite I fulfil parts requests, provide recommended spare lists and remotely troubleshoot mechanic or technical faults. On site, services can include preventative maintenance inspections or overhaul equipment.
Overseeing a project through to completion
There is nothing more satisfying than having an empty civil pad turned into a functioning wash plant. I am on site for installation and commissioning of CDE equipment acting as a conduit between the go live phase and the ongoing operation and maintenance of our plants, ensuring a smooth transition from that point forwards.
What attracted you to CDE?
The opportunity to join a business that has grown from the ground up was very intriguing. The opportunity in the US market is huge for a company like CDE in an industry as huge as the sand & aggregates industry. I’m lucky to be a part of it.
I give credit to the wider CDE family, like McGurk, McKenna, McBride, David Cox, Ryan Barker, Kevin Sheehy, Jason Mills, and others, for taking time to help me develop in this new industry, no matter what time of day to give their expertise.
From F-16's to M4500's
I was active duty Air Force for 13 years, and this included in-ground equipment maintenance for 7 years servicing aircraft such as F-16's, F-15's, C-130's, and Air Force One. Halfway through my Air Force career, I had the opportunity to train in Airport Management; I managed two of the largest airports the military has at its disposal.
I applied DOD and FAA regulations to make sure the airfield was safe for navigation and flight, worked with outside agencies to coordinate large construction projects like runway, taxiway, and apron resurfacing and was responsible for overseeing all flights coming in and out of the local area. About 500,000 flight sorties a year.
Outside of work I am religious about the gym or usually tweaking/upgrading my car or motorcycle, but my true passion is art!
